BAKTRIA, Local Issues. Circa 285/3-280/78 BC. Drachm (Silver, 13 mm, 2.62 g, 6 h), a contemporary plated imitation, uncertain mint in the Oxus region. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. Eagle with closed wings standing left, head turned back to right; above, grape on vine and kerykeion. Cf. Bopearachchi Sophytes, 2A (for prototype). Extremely rare with these controls. Harshly cleaned, some deposits and with breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
